Apart from fumbles from our 2nd keeper Joh.Stead, the game was actually good. We played well and tried to pass around with success, bringing confidence into our next game.

3-1: Joh.Stead does a Massimo Taibi and lets a overhit pass from the opponent miss his attempted crouching catch and ole's himself giving a free shot for no. 14.

4-1: Opponent no. 14 skips past Jer.Stead and shoots a shot across away from J.Sagaram's right diving attempt

Match Summary:
The game is considered a good test. We are actually able to attack and defend well and had decent chances that should have been converted on our side. The malay team had actually lesser chances and opportunities than us but they took their chances well.

1-0: OFFSIDE!!! But was it not? The ball was cleared long from the opponent half and there were actually 2 players offside, one was walking back, the other turned and attacked towards the long ball. All protests were in vain. Joh.Stead did a good block but it bounced over his body and a simple tap in.




2nd Half
2-0: A splitting through ball fed the forward through and M.Angelo kept up with him, jostling for the ball. Joh.Stead came out but dived to his left. The forward pushed the ball away to Joh.Stead's right and M.Angelo couldn't slide in time to block the shot.

3-0: Corner to opponent. Joh.Stead could only punch the ball as he has to cope with a defender and a forward trying to head the ball infront of him. The ball lands to an opponent who half volleys the ball straight into the net, right hand bottom post area.

F.Charles hit the bar from his free kick which bounced over the sand and confused the keeper.
Several chances including opponent keeper dropping the ball whilst making a save (around 3 occassions) but lurking forwards couldn't make good use of the chance.
F.Charles missed a 1-1 chance when Wei Li fed him a delicious through ball. He placed his shot wide.

Good game that really tested our team. Was a winnable game and we brought home good points to learn and improve in our next games.

2-0: A blasted free kick away from the wall 20 yards from goal of which Ken.Koh was poorly positioned to make a save

3-2: Ken.Koh lets the ball bounce from a lobbed midfield pass and a simple header from the forward over the keeper.

4-2: A simple head-in by the opponent specs-guy after Ken.Koh and Kev.Koh both went for the ball. Kev.Koh headed the ball but the lurking winger was left unmarked to score an open goal.

2-1: Penalty!! Robot is brought down in the box where Francis converts the penalty to the bottom right corner, keeper jumped the other way.

2-2: Opponent defence confused themselves with their passing and is robbed off the ball. Francis pounces onto the pass and scores a nice placed shot beyond the keeper's reach.

2-1: WINNING GOAL. A "Maicon" like goal from the left side tight angle near the goal line by Wei Li. He chases a over hit cross from the left and looks like he will run out of room and unleash a super tight angle shot which beat the opponent keeper on his left hand post.

A good show for our team as we were allowed alot of space and had time to 'train' our passing during the game. This win brought back our confidence and hopefully we would play more this way in our future matches.

1-2: Keeper K.Koh was off the line and exposed an easy high shot for the opponent to score. Sliding effort by M.Angelo to attempt to block and T.Tay attempt to put his body to block failed.


2nd Half
2-4: Carrying a thigh injury, M.Angelo completely missed a tackle and the opponent scores.
3-4: K.K misjugdes the length of the goal and didn't dive to make the save from a shot towards his left hand post.

0-1: Francis takes the corner and it missed everyone except one opposing defender who chested it towards goal for an O.G.
0-2: F.Charles scores from a great lofted ball from centre by A.Peter, who controlled it down well and placed the shot past the keeper.
1-3: F.Charles scores a great solo effort from the right wing which the opponent dispute it wasn't a goal due to the broken net. The solo effort came from the penalty from A.Peter which was saved by the keeper and punched towards F.Charles.

1-4: C.Xavier scores from his attempted on-target long range effort which was deflected to the post and into the goal.

Match Summary:
We didn't play well in the 2nd half after Kev.Koh left and exposed the defensive errors that led to 6 goals conceded in the 2nd half.

1-0: A attempted cross became a cross-shot which left the GK backtracking and unsaveable as it just crept below the crossbar

2-1: Attack from left wing which the forward dribbled past the LB and slotted the ball past the GK to the bottom right corner.
3-1: Attack from the right wing, the winger ran away from the RB and placed a near post shot with power. The keeper could only touch the ball slightly with his outstretched left foot.
4-1: Attack from left wing, the midfielder drifted to the centre near edge of penalty box and shoot an unstoppable top left corner shot which the GK jumped but couldn't get a hand to it.
5-1: A call from GK to J.Sagaram was miscommunicated and as the ball was being handled by the GK, J.Sagaram cleared the ball off the GK's hands and was fed to a foward. A body/hand save to block the 1st attempt by GK but couldn't do much on the 2nd follow up which flew to the top left hand corner
6-1: Several ball control mistakes from defenders led to a defender vs 2 forwards situation.
7-1: An attack from right wing, J.Sagaram could only deflect the curling shot which ever so slightly made the shot's angle out of reach from the GK's trailing last ditch leg block.

Match Summary:
HC Team played with fast tempo which led to flurry of goals. We treated this match as a practice so that we can learn from them some of the style/passing which they do so very well.

2-0: Left winger scores through a tight angle from where the keeper anticipated a cross instead of a shot to the top corner near post.

4-0: Freekick scored which flew over the wall. Keeper should have done better by punching. Misjudge the power of the ball which squirmed off the hands as he tried to palm the ball away and off his head and into the net.

6-0: Scorer runs free and shoots towards goal which ricochets off the post and into the net.

Team performed poorly today.
Observation is we crumble under pressure, i.e. when opponent comes to hassle u for the ball, player 'panics' and kicks the ball away to anywhere.

They are very strong with lots of experience playing together, as seen by their dribbling, communication is almost silent as they know how the players play. We have learnt alot from this highly experience NUS team.

1-0: Nice run from left wing by the winger who the RB failed to track back. M.Angelo tried to slide block the cross which went under his body. D.Lim followed close behind and left the opposing fwd free from marking to score.

2-0: A long range shot saved by L.Tan which rebound to another striker who's shot was well kicked off the line by D.Lim. Unfortunately the 3rd rebound went through in between both L.Tan and D.Lim.


2nd Half
3-0: A nice 1-2 pass which left the RB dead in his tracks. Striker placed a powered shot towards near post which J.Stead had no chance.
4-0: A nice lob pass to right winger who ran away from the LB. A neat square pass to the striker who scored easily
5-0: A very good crossfield pass from the opposing RB towards the striker who ran to the left wing and attacked goalwards, scoring a nice far post goal.

0-1: A.Prima dribbles past his marker from his right wing side and shoots a passing shot towards goal. The keeper could only produce a soft palm to slightly divert but not prevent the ball from rolling into the net.

Stand-in keeper played well in the with several great saves, one is a 1-on-1 situation where he saved the shot by reflex with the left foot when he was going to dive to his right and diving at the feet of the players twice to prevent goals from rushing in.
He controlled the penalty box well, coming out to intercept long balls/short balls to stop the opponent attack from progressing.

2nd Half (2-4)
0-2: A long drop kick from stand-in keeper M.Angelo finds Ma.Lim at the left wing who releases F.Charles into space with a lovely throughball. He drags the keeper out and unselfishly passes to his Uncle Lawrence who taps in an easy goal.

0-3: Francis scores a lovely side foot shot from build up between the forwards A.Prima and Ma.Lim. It started from another long drop kick.

0-4: F.Charles scores a wonderful lob after great midfield work which totally beat the keeper who was around 12 yards off his line. Started from Kev.Koh who broke the opponent attack and provided a starting pass to F.Charles.

1-4: Kev.Koh admits his mistake and plays 2 opposing forwards on-side. The forward shoots a grounder which goes under the diving body of M.Angelo who was just a split second late.

2-4: Corner to the opposing team which is whipped towards the far post. The header bounces off the post where E.Hong who was stationed there couldn't do much about it.

0-1: C.Bey's never say die attitude performs a nice tackle which bounces nicely for C.Xavier u unleashes an unstoppable right foot powerful shot beyond the keeper's reach.

C.Bey suffers an injury: A left shin fracture when he was attempting a shot. The defender slightly clips his left shin from the side which was a 50-50 tackle.

1-1: The blue boot guy shoots and M.Angelo can only deflect the ball away with his right foot. D.Lim miscued his clearance and instead deflects it to the near post for an O.G

2-1: Starts from a cross-field pass from the opposing left wing. D.Lim does well in making the forward move very wide for a tough shot but fails to block the ball who the forward shoots near post. D.Lim could have slid to block the ball to prevent a goal.

3-1: J.Sagaram misjudges the bounce of the free kick and fails to adequately body check the speedy forward who runs away from J.Sagaram and shoots a saveable shot. K.Koh could have done better by adding extra strength to his save; he let the ball squirm through his palms.

4-1: Me.Lim fails to push back in time after a great last ditch block by M.Angelo. A cross from the opposing right wing finds the forward free and shoots a simple shot to the left for a goal. There was little communication from K.Koh and Me.Lim in this defensive situation.

4-1: C.Bey bundles the home from an acute angle on the left after the managed to save the initial C.Bey shot but dropped the ball into the patch of C.Bey who scored from an outrageous angle.
6-2: F.Charles capitalizes on a keeper mistake after spilling the ball off the keeper's grasp to his back for F.Charles to pounce on the ball.

3-1 - C.Bey scores a long range shot from the left wing after dribbling solo against the opponent defence.
4-2 - A rare attack chance, with A.Prima, M.Angelo, M.Lim and C.Bey joining up. The attack was momentarily broken up by vigilant defending which S.Chye picked up the pieces and passed to M.Angelo. M.Angelo 'oled the defender with a through ball to M.Lim who calmly shot the ball near post.
6-3 - A.Prima was blatantly blocked by the 2nd last defender whom the latter was booked. A well taken 25 yard free kick hits the bar and into the net.

1st Half
1-0 - Nice play with poor marking on our part. The forward unleashes a soft shot which is saveable but K.Tan misjudges the shot.
2-0 - Poor closing down of defence leads to another similar shot but more power and K.Tan's view is obstructed and too late to make a dive.

2nd Half
A series of keeper injuries: K.Tan sprained his wrist and subbed by K.Koh. A few saves later, K.Koh strained his knee and D.Lim became the stand-in keeper
3-0 - D.Lim produces a fine save to the post but the half-volley from the left was unstoppable and buried at the right hand side.
4-1 - A defensive mix up of the centrebacks from an opponent corner kick (suddenly cluster in the middle of penalty box) allows a easy shot to go past D.Lim
5-1 - D.Lim drop kick is poor and ends up straight to the waiting forward and the forward shoots a tame chip shot but D.Lim allows the ball to bounce and the nature of the pitch at the penalty box is muddy, so the ball slides off the surface and D.Lim couldn't control the ball which slid into the net.
K.Koh judged himself well to play again and comes in to be the keeper for the last 15mins. D.Lim comes in for C.Bey
6-2 - Offside or not, a very big gaping hole in the centre allows the forward to run through in between the 2 centrebacks and score a finesse shot to the right.

They scored a goal before we pull one back and then a barrage of 4 goals came by, notably one squirmed under KK's grasp and one is well taken angled shot from the right. The key moment came when Francis pulled out during the 2nd half for cramps.

Summary: We played well until we conceded 1 goal. From then the defence became messier and gradually lost its shape when we changed to 5-3-2 in the 2nd half.

Views: Our 5-3-2 is actually effective, it can transition to our trial 5-4-1, which led to 3 goals. 5-4-1 is somewhat effective because the midfield is 'crowded' and there is plenty of support.

The problem with 5-3-2 on our match day 4 is that there is no support from the wingbacks in attack after transitioning from trial 5-4-1.

Our offside trap didn't work, we relied too much on that today. Suggestion is to minimize offside trap tactics (not totally make them disappear) and promote close marking of forwards by centre-backs.
Wingbacks should also help cover centre-backs that have been beaten by attackers by becoming the '2nd defender'.
Centre-backs should make the forwards work harder. They should prevent the ball from bouncing as it will make it harder to clear. We should all go to the ball and not let the ball go to us.

O.G. by KK is based on 'gabra-ness' on his part where he had the space and time to actually kick the ball out of play (to concede a corner or throw in). He took a gamble by passing it back to the GK. This sudden pass was not prepared for our GK to receive and it rolled into the net.

2 Goals from Matthew: 1st goal was good effort from left wing with Aloy having the last touch which fell onto Matthew's path and he calmly shot the ball with his outside boot towards the left post goal area. 2nd goal was an outstanding assist by Clement - his through ball found Matthew in space and powered strike beat the goalkeeper and into the net.

1 Goal from Clement: An attacking attempt was cleared by Mike and it soared to Clement's path who ran up with the bouncing ball, before chesting it for control, outpacing his marker and placed a powered shot past the goal keeper.

Miss of the day: Francis missed a sitter after a good wing cross from right flank. His shot agonizingly flew wide while he was a few yards infront of goal.

1st Half Analysis
1st conceded goal through our left flank; LB caused opponent RM to be onside. This caused a defensive scramble of the RB and CB's to try to block the 2 forwards receiving the ball but failed and they scored a good shot to the bottom left corner.

2nd conceded goal through our left flank again; same LB, same situation. RB had to track back opponent RF as the CB marking him was left dead for pace (after LB had made the offside blunder). RB tried his best to block but failed and rolled into the net attempting to block.

2nd Half Analysis
3rd conceded goal through corner set piece; no one marked running midfielder who was receiving the ball at the 20 yard box box line. LB had to leave marker to try to block the shot by the midfielder. GK partly to blame as he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings.

GOAL for our side; Clement's cross shot was met by Francis who tried to head it but from my view it looked like it hit his shoulder and looped over the opponent GK's head.
